Schedule Details/Additional Information:
8- 5 pm, M-F with some nights and weekends for monitoring social media accounts. This is primarily a remote role with the ability to attend in-person meetings if needed. Advocate may approve remote workers who reside in the following registered states: AL, AK, AR, AZ, DE, FL, GA, IA, ID, IL, IN, LA, KS, KY, ME, MI, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WI, WV, WY.

Helps execute and contribute to Advocate Health’s social media strategy to facilitate access, awareness and engagement on Advocate Health’s social media platforms. This position will produce content that will be driven from the social media strategy across all brand’s social media properties, which include: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, blogs, etc. They will be responsible for creating, designing and writing content for brand’s social media audiences as well as additional tasks, including but not limited to, writing blog content, executing paid strategies, editing content, monitoring and responding on social channels, proofreading, creating videos and social media graphics.

Major Responsibilities:

Executes and contributes to overall social media strategy through posting regularly on all of Advocate Health’s platforms (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) to inform internal and external stakeholders what the Advocate Health brand offers, to increase engagement, maintain reputation and promote system and generate buzz around marketing campaigns, contests and sweepstakes. 

Creates daily posts and implements paid ad strategies for platforms with branded and professional images that drive goals and inspire communities to take action, including: educational and engaging video content, infographics, lead generation ads, etc. 

Travels to locations to photograph evergreen and on-trend content for social media. 

Consistently monitor pages to ensure comments within community are appropriate, and promptly addresses community comments, reviews, questions and/or concerns. 

Stays ahead of social media content industry news and best practices. Provides input into strategic direction for brand’s social media channels. Participates in creative brainstorming sessions to develop new, more effective ways of engaging social space. 

Assists as liaison between operations and system teams to support content through social media promotion (internally and externally). Assists in primary coverage for all social platforms during weekday office hours and as needed outside of work hours in evenings and weekends. 

Executes on day-to-day reputation management strategies and monitors all social channels to ensure our consumers are being responded to in a timely manner. 

Provides support and coverage at community and partner events and serves as a live in-person social media support for system-wide and site events, sports partnership events, community initiatives, etc. Collaborates with patients, families, associates and clinical professionals to develop interesting and compelling stories through our partnerships and events that enhance the brand. 

Pulls timely social media reports and creates monthly or as-needed dashboards. Responds to reviews on all social media platforms and works to resolve issues with internal stakeholders. 

Maintains monthly editorial calendars including pre-approved posts supporting brand goals, paid social ads, community and sports partnerships, events and other initiatives.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:

None Required.

Education Required:

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, advertising or other business-related field, or bachelor’s degree combined with relevant experience. 

Experience Required:

Typically requires 3 years of experience in day-to-day management of social media platforms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Organized and detail oriented. 

Strong written and oral communication skills. 

Ability to operate independently in a self-directed, deadline-driven environment.  

Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of clinicians, management, executives, etc. 

Proficient in social media management and analytics tools, Microsoft Office products and familiarity with WordPress. 

Ability to develop social media strategies and tactics and effectively communicate recommendations to external communications leadership, under the guidance of social media leadership 

A flair for creating persuasive content and communicating effectively (and differently) depending on the medium. 

Proactive, independent and takes initiative with consistent follow through. Results oriented. 

Superior time management skills, with capability of working with and meeting deadlines. Ability to handle tasks and complete work accurately and within a short timeframe.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Position requires some work on weekends and outside of normal business hours.   
 

Position requires some local, regional, national and market travel.  

Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job. 

Must be able to sit, stand, walk and bend throughout the workday. 

Position requires travel therefore may be exposed to weather and road hazards. 

Protective clothing must be worn as necessary.
