Schedule Details/Additional Information:
Second and/or third shift with weekends

Major Responsibilities:
Performance of electroencephalographic (routine, video, and portable) and evoked potential recordings. Assist physicians with EMGs/NCV.
1)Performed according to policy and procedure.

Performance of standard calibrations, montages, and modified montages for quality recordings.
3)Modified montages, in addition to standard montages, to the particular clinical circumstances, including but not limited to the addition of electrodes and devising appropriate recording techniques.

1)Performs calibration at the beginning of every recording

2)Records standard montages for both adult and pediatric patients

Performance of record archiving.
1)Prepares and burns compact discs for storage of digital EEGs.

2)Logs all digital data in appropriate log book.

Maintenance of departmental documentation.
1)Enters charges/credits into Care Connection in timely manner.

2)Maintains daily log sheets

3)Assigns each recording a procedure number in appropriate log book.

4)Files reports when completed

5)Assists in the collection of Process Improvement data.

6)Collaborate on research projects with other staff members and neurologists

Maintenance of EEG lab/supplies.
1)Order supplies from General Stores

2)Order supplies from outside vendors using Lawson

3)Order office supplies from Corporate Express

4)Keep EEG Lab/work area clean.

5)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives.

Professional /Personal Growth Activities.
1)Attends one conference/meeting/seminar per year in area of specialty

2)Reviews and shares current literature with other associates

3)Performs the orientation and clinical education of EEG Students

4)Completes all mandatory in-services as documented

5)Participated in external professional activities and organizations related to EEG

6)Accepts membership on committees as assigned

7)Serves as a resource person for other associates regarding EEG and neurodiagnostic testing

Education/Experience Required:
High school education 6 months -1 year formal EEG/EP training and 3-4 years EEG/EP experience This position will need to recognize the need and behaviors of a variety of age groups treated, i.e. understanding child growth and development, normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging; prior experience with various age groups is preferred.

-Registered in electroencephalography – Associates in role prior to June 1, 2013 have until December 31, 2013 to obtain Registered ABRET status -CPR certified

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to stand for length of time. Ability to bend and/or kneel for a length of time. Ability to move equipment to do portable procedures. Ability to meet flexible staffing needs. Ability to do light, medium, and heavy lifting. May be exposed to life threatening diseases.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
