Human Resources Development
1)• Assures adequate staffing. Conducts staff meetings to discuss Quality Assurance, policies and operations. Determines inservice needs of staff and utilizes resources to provide additional training as required. Provides mandatory inservice programs and feedback from divisional and Medical Center meetings as required.
2) Responsible for the supervision of nursing staff, ultrasound staff, clerical staff, includes interviewing, hiring, orienting, assessing and documenting competency, evaluating and counseling
3) Coordinates staff participation in educational programs, inservice education, and professional meetings
4) Assures competency of direct reports including assessment of competency, documentation and clinical training.
5) Guides and directs staff in standards for appropriate documentation regarding patient contact
6) Identifies performance issues and prepares and implements disciplinary actions, as well as counseling and termination.
7) Schedules staff and supervises workflow for maxium productivity and efficiency.
8) Verifies time sheets for staff. Suggest redistribution of front office tasks, as necessary.
9) Provides orientation and training of staff.
Administrative Responsibilities
10)Ensures that the department offers current antental and fetal diagnostic testing and procedures as appropriate for the department. Working collaboratively with the Medical Director and the Chair of Obstetrics & Gynecology makes sure that staff have the appropriate skill set and the department has the appropriate equipment.
1) Develop policies, procedures and standards of care to insure consistent and effective operations. Implements, interprets, and communicates hospital and departmental policies to staff.
2) Works with the attending medical director to insure the delivery of optimal care.
3) Hires, provides orientation, and reviews the performance of support staff
4) Addresses patients concerns and complaints. Performs Service Recovery . Works with Medical Director and/or Administrative Director as needed to resolved complicated issues.
5) Recommends and implements operational changes, as necessary
6) Active participant in quality management activities
7) Enforces appropriate policies related to clinical nursing duties and patient care.
8) Runs Antenatal Resource Center staff meetings. Attends Management meetings.
9) Responsible for the Revenue Cycle for the Antenatal Resource department.
Clinical Nursing Responsibilities
1) Assumes responsibility for the care and management of low-risk and high-risk obstetric patients seen in the Antenatal Resource Center
2) Participates in direct patient care activities under direct supervision of the providers in accordance with established nursing care protocols
3) Performs telephone triage, making assessments regarding level of care needed, consulting with provider as needed.
4) Participates in prenatal diagnostic procedures and/or fetal therapy, ensuring all necessary equipment is present as outlined by protocol
5) Performs duties according to approved infection control policies/procedures.
Licensure:
Nurse, Registered (RN)
Education/Experience Required:
3+ years supervisory experience in a hospital or medical office setting. BSN preferred Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of age specific patient groups. Board Certification by 12/31/2015 or within two years of hire
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Good communication skills Good organizational skills Performs adequate psychological and physical assessment of patients. Computer knowledge and skills.. Appropriate clinical skills for assessment and diagnosis of Maternal Fetal Medicine patients.
Current Illinois RN License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment. Flexible hours Ability to effectively manage a diverse work load. Ability to communicate with patients and respond in a timely manner. Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgement skills. Ability to recognize needs and behaviors of the following age groups, adolescent and adult.
